“Are you motivated, frustrated or intimidated?”
In order to grow as a player, you need to be motivated.
You can’t train on days only when you feel like training. You have to get out there and work. You need the feeling inside you, the feeling that you won’t let anything get in your way of training. It has everything to do with motivation, if you’re a worker, you’ll be motivated.
Frustrated athletes fail to make it. They are good at placing blame elsewhere. Players who are intimidated weed themselves out. How do you motivate yourself to put on your basketball shoes each day and go workout? Do you think of your opponent? Do you think of making the team this winter? Do you think of becoming a better player?
The will to prepare for something important gets manufactured every day. You can’t just be motivated on one day out of the week. Every day you must give 100%.
Your actions, not your words determine what type of player you become.
“Every morning in Africa, a Gazelle wakes up. It knows it must run faster than the fastest lion or it will be killed. Every morning a lion wakes up, it knows it must outrun the slowest Gazelle or it will starve to death… It doesn’t matter whether you are a lion or Gazelle: WHEN THE SUN COMES UP iN THE MORNING, YOU HAD BETTER BE RUNNING!”
