Day 10 - Pride

How many players take pride in their game, being a great teammate and representing their team, school, or organization?

Celtics Pride and Yankees Pride.  Two successful organizations over time.  Rich in tradition, great team players and many, many championship rings.  Lenny Wilkins once said, “There is a lot to be said for the commitment made by a player and his pride in winning.”
You often hear people say play for the name on the front of the jersey instead of the back.

Take pride in improving to help your teammates.
Taking pride in your game and your team is most important.  Show a sincere concern for everything there is to do to help your team be successful. Take pride in stopping your man from scoring. Take pride in making the extra pass to hit the open man. Take pride in sprinting up and down the floor.
Pride
When two basketball players have:
Equal natural ability, equal preparation,
Equal conditioning, equal concentration,
Equal reaction to pressure,
Who will have the edge?
Who will win?
The answer is simple.  The athlete who is at his best, who loves a hard battle and who refuses to lose…
The athlete with the most pride!
