The new school year brings with it opportunities to get off to a great start in the classroom and improve on the court. I know many of us are giving our full attention to our fall sports. Hopefully you are all off to a great season! For those of us who are not, fall Supergroup and open gyms offer a great opportunity to improve. You can either choose to get better in the classroom and on the court, or make excuses why you just can't finish that tough assignment or why a couple of days off won't hurt.
Successful basketball players don’t use excuses in the classroom or on the court.
Sit a little closer to the front, study a little longer and take advantage of extra credit opportunities. Get into better shape. Work on your jump shot. Work on your handle. Get in the weight room. Get together with a teammate and do some extra running.. Learn to become a better teammate.
You can either battle to the end or give up and go home. I prefer the battle. You will too!
“An excuse becomes an obstacle in your journey to success when it is made in place of your best effort or when it is used as the object of the blame.”
